Select Team Tryout Dates - Summer 2019, For 2020 Season Rosters
by posted 06/05/2019

Dear BBSC Families,

We are changing the dates for select team tryouts from weekend days to week days.  The need for the change is both the availability of candidates (easier on families to get candidates to weekday tryouts) and the availability of evaluators.  We appreciate your flexibility related to our changing the dates announced last month.

Please see below for the tryout dates that have been set for the 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, and 14U BBSC Select Baseball Teams that will play in the spring and summer of 2020.  It is mandatory for players to attend both days of the tryout (either both days on the primary weekend or both days on the make-up weekend).  Announcements of team rosters will be made within 10 days following the completion of the tryouts.  The times for each of the days will be communicated following the coordination and scheduling of fields and evaluators.  That information will be communicated in early June.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning time for check in (5:15 pm arrival for the 5:30 start times).

*Note on Birthday Eligibility Range:  The 9U select team for the 2020 season will be the first team to shift eligibility range to match BBSC’s recent shift to September 1st eligibility.  The other 5 age groups will be based on the May 1st eligibility date that was used when those teams were initially formed – the May 1st date will track with those groups of candidates as they move through the remaining years of select tryouts.  The eligibility range for the 2021 season 9U team will be September  1, 2011 through August 31, 2012.

The long term plan is heading toward standardizing on similar weekends each year for this tryout process.

Best regards,

BBSC Select Committee
